Move every packet
in the world

Our bet is simple:
we’ll use the internet more tomorrow than we do today.

Nearly every human ambition—from bringing new sources of energy and intelligence online to running classrooms, hospitals, factories, and data centers—depends on fast, reliable, and secure connectivity.

As our ambitions grow, those networks must grow alongside them, too.

But networking hasn’t kept pace with the rest of computing. Most organizations still provision networks through the same tedious, expensive processes we’ve used for 40 years:

  1. Switches from one vendor
  2. Firewalls from another vendor
  3. Software from another vendor
  4. Hiring someone to install it
  5. Finding someone (else) to maintain it

The network engineers who have kept the internet running over that half-century are now expected to retire below replacement rate, just as network demand is slated to grow faster than it has in history. This cliff leaves all but the most resourced organizations struggling to get, and stay, online.

That’s why Meter is building the internet into a new kind of utility.

We take responsibility for the entire network: designing the hardware, writing the firmware and software, deploying the networks, and keeping them running. Because we own the entire stack, the network is simpler to operate, improves with every deployment, and will eventually run itself.

Our ambition is to move every packet in the world so every organization can depend on its network—and spend more time doing the work the network makes possible.
